The Four Winds
The Four Winds Saxophone Quartet was formed in the summer of 1999.
The ensemble is composed of three former college classmates and one of their students. Dr. Paul Dalbey, a local Podiatrist and former student of Dr. Richard Klinedinst at Cumberland Valley High School and later of Professor Colangelo at Millersville University, asked his teachers to form the ensemble. The quartet was completed with the addition of Dr. William Higgins who taught woodwinds at Messiah College and was a classmate of Dr. Klinedinst and Professor Colangelo at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania.
The ensemble includes saxophones of four sizes: soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone. The members all play instruments made by the Yamaha Corporation.
